HOW IT WORKS
We will meet to discuss a plan in accordance to the schedule of events outlined by the company benefits administrator and human resources department. Each company is different and Baseline Medical can tailor a screening event to meet the desired needs in each setting when a health fair or wellness event is being planned on campus.
As in past events we provide a schedule of individual appointments throughout the course of the specified event and to allow space for additional participants. As the event unfolds we have seen the employee enthusiasm develop a second wave of energy among the staff. They stop by to inquire if there is more room in the schedule before we leave for the day.
Co-workers have routinely shared how easy the entire process is with their peers when they return to their work station and they have encouraged others and even sought them out and escorted them to the screening venue to have them participate. It is quite exciting and rewarding to have such a positive response to a meaningful initiative that impacts everyone in the company.
PAYMENTS
Payment for the screening event is determined by the host company. There is only one nominal host fee for Baseline Medical travel and transfer cost with set up of equipment to the remote venue location.
1. Some employers prefer to offer this event as a token of thanks to their team members and it is no cost to them. Many times when annual raises or performance bonuses are not possible this has proven to be an exceptional expression of sincere appreciation from the executive management to the entire company staff. A final head count is provided by Baseline Medical to determine the total number of screenings performed and the company is invoiced accordingly.
2. Other companies have joint participation with employees and the cost of the event is divided between the employer and employee. Baseline Medical either receives the co-pay from the employee at the time of their reserved appointment or the employee submits their co-pay to the wellness director. The total invoice is submitted by Baseline Medical for applicable payment.
3. Also, screenings can be paid for by each team member directly or as part of a health spending/savings account. Receipts from Baseline Medical are provided to each team member with their results at the conclusion of their personal screening session.
Preliminary reports are issued immediately to the employee only. HIPAA privacy laws are practiced during and after the screening event to ensure integrity of the process for the employee. The employer or company receives no information on any specific employee. Only statistical data is conveyed to the host for processing the success of the event. This is useful to track progress when the health fair is repeated in the future to confirm how awareness is improving the status quo and results are seen in their healthier work force.
It would be helpful to share with the insurance carrier how proactive steps endorsed by the wellness director have reduced employee risk. Perhaps your insurance carrier may offer discounted premium rates for offering a yearly wellness and preventative health program to your employees.
